On What Other Biblical Arguments Does Belief in Universal Reconciliation Rest?
In the first place, on explicit statements such as:
- As through one man all mankind was condemned, so also through one Man all mankind will be justified (Romans 5:18);
- GOD wills that all mankind be saved (1 Timothy 2:4), and He is the Savior of all mankind (1 Timothy 4:10);
- Every tongue will sincerely confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, for the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:11);
- Death, as the last enemy, will be abolished by making all alive, after which God will become All in all (1 Corinthians 15:22–28).
Besides the explicit statements above, there are also more general statements about who GOD is, by which it is no more than logical that He will make everything right:
- GOD does not abandon the works of His hands (Psalm 138:8);
- GOD seeks what is lost until He finds it (Luke 15:4);
- GOD has locked up all together in disobedience, that He should be merciful to all (Romans 11:32);
- GOD is almighty and able to realize everything He wills (Job 42:2).
In addition, there are also countless statements that emphasize the all-embracing scope of the work of Jesus Christ:
- Christ Jesus gave Himself as a ransom for all (1 Timothy 2:6);
- Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world (John 4:42);
- Jesus Christ is a propitiation not only for our sins, but also for the whole world (1 John 2:2);
- etc.
