Aren’t the “All Men” in Romans 5:18 Those “Obtaining the Superabundance of Grace” (:17)?

No, Rom. 5:18 refers back to Rom. 5:12. In that verse Paul begins with a comparison (“Therefore, even as through one man…”) which he then does not finish. The entire argument from verse 13 through verse 17 is a parenthesis. In verse 18 Paul then picks up the thread again and finally completes the comparison.

Apart from this, it is completely clear to the unbiased reader that the second “all mankind” in verse 18 must be just as absolute as the first “all mankind.” Paul does not write in vain: “as… thus also.”
