Doesn’t 1 Corinthians 15:22 Simply Say That All People Will Rise?

It means much more. All who are in the graves will one day rise. Either in the resurrection of life or in the resurrection of judgment (John 5:29). Those whose name is not written in the book of life will be cast into the lake of fire, which is the second death (Revelation 20:15).

Christ was not the first to rise from the dead. Think, for example, of Lazarus and the young man of Nain, who rose earlier. These people rose in order, after some time, to die again—for a second time. But Christ is the first Who was made alive in incorruption, glory, and power (1 Corinthians 15:42,43). He was the first to leave death behind definitively. As such, He is the Firstfruit of all who die in Adam (15:22)! The resurrection of judgment at the great white throne (Rev. 20), therefore, is not mentioned in Paul’s enumeration in 1 Cor. 15:22-28.

All humanity, (when death will have been nullified), will know the life that the last Adam once brought to light on Easter morning as Firstfruit!
